BUSINESS MODEL

Centering on a high-demand product.

Development of a specialized marketplace concept focused on the “little black dress”. Google keyword research evaluated consumer search demand. The offering sought to bridge targeted product search with bespoke tailoring by professional studios and fashion ateliers.

PLATFORM & AFFILIATE

Connecting craftsmanship with digital sales.

Independent setup and operation of the website featuring a direct registration portal for tailors and fashion ateliers. Supplementary integration of the Amazon Associate program with a curated selection of “little black dresses” – automatically synced and styled to match the platform aesthetic.

PARTNERS & MARKETING

Bringing the concept to market.

Nationwide partner outreach to tailoring studios and fashion ateliers for platform onboarding. Personal meetings to exchange ideas regarding the initiative. Setup and operation of social media channels, along with planning and executing marketing campaigns.

THE ENTREPRENEURIAL IMPULSE

Developing a business idea from a passion for fashion.

The initial spark came from my wife’s and daughters’ enthusiasm for fashion. This inspired the idea of establishing a joint business with my wife, with a long-term vision of involving our daughters. At the center stood Coco Chanel’s iconic “little black dress” – a versatile fashion classic ideal for clear retail positioning.

This personal inspiration was validated by Google keyword research. Strong search volume formed the foundation for further concept development: a specialized platform centered on a defined iconic product, uniting bespoke manufacturing with digital performance marketing.

Specialization as a shared gateway to customers.

DksK was designed as a marketplace for independent partners. Tailoring studios and fashion ateliers could register directly on the website and offer custom-made “little black dresses” via the platform. A singular focus on a fashion staple provided a clearly defined assortment and highly targeted customer communication.

The concept combined digital market access with the individual craftsmanship of participating studios. Website presence, social media engagement, personal consultation, and custom tailoring were merged into an integrated sales model.

The supplementary Amazon Affiliate selection opened an additional channel to the product: alongside the partner concept for custom-made dresses, a curated selection of ready-to-wear “little black dresses” was made available.

Two iterations of a specialized retail model.

The initial launch began in 2013 and was paused in 2014. Between 2018 and 2020, the initiative was revitalized. A digital platform was established featuring registration capabilities for tailors and ateliers, accompanied by nationwide partner outreach and online marketing.

As outreach did not yield committed partner onboarding, the planned marketplace for custom tailoring did not materialize. Consequently, the website was utilized to feature ready-to-wear dresses via the Amazon Associate program.

Conception and execution were managed under full personal responsibility – from technical build and website maintenance to content creation, campaign assets, and social media channels.
