2. Operation and Security

The website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. In doing so, IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs, browser and operating system information, and, if applicable, the previously visited page are processed. This serves the provision, error analysis, and security of the website. STRATO stores IP addresses for attack detection and prevention for a maximum of seven days.

To prevent abuse, IP addresses and suspicious access attempts may be recorded in security logs. Their retention is determined by the necessity to detect and resolve attacks as well as to secure evidence in concrete incidents.

Backup copies of files and the database are stored in Google Drive within Google Workspace. If the backed-up data contains personal data, it is included in the backup. Retention is governed by the need to restore the website following data loss or technical disruptions. Providers and international transfers are described in Section 7.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest lies in the secure, reliable, and recoverable operation of the website.

Statutory retention is based on Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
