ENTREPRENEURSHIP · ONLINE RETAIL · TARGET AUDIENCE MARKETING
ePiyasa GmbH
Connecting commerce through language and target groups.
Establishment and operation of a German-Turkish online retail offering for consumer goods. Combining a digital storefront, commercial partnerships, and pan-European print and TV marketing – supplemented by a service hotline for telephone orders.
Business Field & Location: Online Retail · Berlin, Germany
A retail offering tailored to a specific audience.
BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENT
Leveraging language as market access.
Setting up a German-Turkish online store featuring selected consumer goods from leading manufacturers. While open to all customers, the offering was targeted specifically at the Turkish-speaking population in Germany upon launch.
COMMERCIAL PARTNERSHIPS
Bringing products and partners together.
Collaboration with Samsung Germany and Actebis Peacock for the product offering. Integrating branded goods, inventory supply, and fulfillment as the foundation for operational execution.
MARKETING & ORDER CHANNELS
Reaching the target audience through familiar media.
Execution of a pan-European campaign with Sabah Europa and Samsung: daily advertisements in Sabah newspaper alongside accompanying TV advertising on Kanal D. In addition to the online store, a service hotline enabled telephone orders.
MARKET ACCESS & RESONANCE
Bridging communication and purchasing opportunities.
The bilingual presentation combined the product assortment with targeted outreach via established media channels within the Turkish-speaking community. The campaign in Sabah Europa and on Kanal D guided interested customers to the digital storefront and telephone ordering options.
The initiative achieved positive resonance, demonstrating how target audience understanding, media partnerships, and multiple purchasing channels can be successfully combined within a unified retail concept.
From the German market to a Eurasian perspective.
The name ePiyasa loosely translates to “eMarket”. Beyond entry into the German market, the vision encompassed a marketplace connecting producers and end customers across Eurasia – with a long-term strategic focus spanning Berlin and Istanbul.
This international expansion remained a developmental perspective. The core realization comprised the German-Turkish retail offering alongside its accompanying sales and marketing measures.
Setting priorities. Concluding the venture.
ePiyasa was launched in parallel with my management role at product+concept in Berlin. When that role demanded my full dedication in 2008 and no viable perspective remained for jointly continuing ePiyasa, the operational venture was brought to a close in June 2008.
Following my relocation to Moers in 2009, the project was not resumed.
