INITIAL LEADERSHIP ROLE · 2001–2002

Establishing product management for BPexpress.

I initially joined in October 2001 on a part-time basis while completing my full-time business administration studies in Berlin. During the application process itself, I was offered the leadership of the product management department. For BPexpress, I managed the online shop’s assortment, purchasing, revenue, and margin, as well as promotional assortments at service stations, while building a four-person team.

The position bridged online retail and brick-and-mortar promotional marketing within BP’s multichannel concept. My outstanding performance formed the foundation for product+concept inviting me back for a senior leadership role in 2006.

COMPANY & BACKGROUND

Connecting commerce and technology on behalf of clients.

product+concept developed and operated digital retail platforms for enterprise clients – from strategic conception and technical execution to daily operations and fulfillment. By the time I returned in 2006, the company had expanded to over 100 employees.

During the insolvency proceedings in 2008, as the last remaining member of the original executive leadership team, I led discussions with the insolvency administrator. As I saw no sustainable future perspective for the company under the proposed direction, I made a conscious decision to leave in June 2008.
